Coating Capabilities
Tekra’s coating facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin is equipped with three coaters, two gravure coating lines and one roll coater with solvent and UV curing capabilities. We have extensive expertise in clear and matte hard coating of engineering grade polymer films such as polyester, polycarbonate and PMMA and our technical team is accustomed to producing film to precise optical specifications. We offer films with anti-glare and low sparkle properties for electronic display manufacturing. We manufacture proprietary digital print receptive films for the HP Indigo press systems, UV inkjet printing, solvent inkjet printing, toner, and thermal transfer systems. In addition, Tekra’s full research and development service can support custom coating projects from concept to lab bench through to full production to support emerging market applications.
Distribution Products
Tekra is a full service film and adhesives distributor offering Mylar® and Melinex® brands from DuPont Teijin Films®, Teonex® PEN films from Toyobo Film Solutions Limited™, LEXAN™ polycarbonate from SABIC Innovative Plastics, and 3M’s outstanding line of transfer tapes and bonding solutions. We also carry a wide array of products used by graphics manufacturers including wide format cast and calendered vinyl films from 3M; rigid polyvinyl films; pressure sensitive label materials; polystyrene; Tyvek®; Teslin®; Yupo®; protective tapes and masking; and other synthetic materials in addition to conductive inks. With dedicated focus on films, adhesives, and the printing industry, Tekra can assist you in making material selections to best fit internal processing and end use applications backed with our precision converting, nationwide distribution and ISO certified quality programs.
Medical Market
Tekra has special expertise in Medical Diagnostics as DuPont’s® exclusive authorized diagnostics distributor in North America. As a Tier 1 supplier to major medical device manufacturers, Tekra is well versed in the requirements of compliance with the Food and Drug Act and operates in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) bridging the gap between industrial commodities and high quality medical consumables for our OEM and converting customers.
